Maybelline Snow Bunny vs. Revlon Iced Silver

I noticed that the Maybelline Snow Bunny polish from yesterday's haul looked a lot like another one of my polishes: Revlon Iced Silver (from this manicure). So I decided to do a comparision:

Maybelline Snow Bunny (left) and Revlon Iced Silver (right)
In the bottle, Snow Bunny and Iced Silver look really similar, except that Snow Bunny is a bit warmer. But on the nail, the differences really came out.

From left: Snow Bunny, Iced Silver, Snow Bunny, Iced Silver

Maybelline Snow Bunny and Revlon Iced Silver are actually very different because Snow Bunny is a shimmery white and Iced Silver is a bright silver. Iced Silver was completely opaque in two gloopy coats (here is my rant on the formula) but would have looked better with a third coat, while Snow Bunny was barely opaque in SIX COATS!! SIX!!! And that's WITH VNL. Like seriously. Then again, I was sort of expecting this because Maybelline Express Finish polishes tend to be pretty thin (which contributes to the amazing dry time, I guess).

After doing this comparison, I've decided that I prefer Snow Bunny over Iced Silver. Now don't start calling the insane asylum just yet, let me explain. Yes, it did take six coats to reach anything that resembled opacity, but it was a smooth six coats. Iced Silver, on the other hand, was thick, streaky, and gloopy. I won't go too much into it; I already did that in my other post. I also just like how Snow Bunny looks; while Iced Silver is flashy and bright, Snow Bunny is soft and shimmery. Don't get me wrong, I still love flashy nails, but Snow Bunny just looks better than Iced Silver.

I really like both Maybelline Snow Bunny and Revlon Iced Silver for their contrasting aspects, but Iced Silver pales in comparison to Snow Bunny due to its crappy formula.

Would you rather do more coats with a smooth, quick-drying formula or less coats with a thick, slow-drying formula?

Maybelline Express Finish polishes are available at drugstores for about $4.
Revlon nail polishes are available at drugstores for about $5.

Little thing to smile for today: white and silver nail polish! :)

Revlon Galaxy over Sinful Colors Love Bite

I decided to make my manicure from yesterday more interesting by doing some quick layering with Revlon Galaxy. I put one coat of Revlon Galaxy on the index and middle fingers and two coats on the ring finger and pinky:

Outdoor

Outdoor, flash
As you can probably tell, the sun was almost gone when I went outside to take pictures.

Revlon Galaxy is a glitter topcoat with black and holo microglitter and large hexagonal holo glitter. I used Revlon Galaxy in a previous manicure, but I think it looks better here. The glitter really pops against the black of Sinful Colors Love Bite.

So I tried out the non-acetone polish remover from today's mini-haul and I was pretty surprised by it. It worked much better than I thought it would (obviously not as well as pure acetone, but that's to be expected). It took off the nail polish pretty quickly and didn't dry out my nails and cuticles! It did leave a sort of weird smell/feeling on my fingers and nails, but it doesn't really bother me. I am totally willing to use this instead of pure acetone for the health benefits! :D

Do you use acetone or non-acetone polish remover?

Revlon nail polishes are available at drugstores for about $5.

Smile for saving your kidneys with non-acetone polish remover!! :D

Mini Drugstore Haul

I figured that should probably spend the Target gift card that I've had forever so I picked up some random stuff:

up & up Brand non-acetone nail polish remover
Just if you didn't know, up & up is Target's own brand.
The main reason I got this was because last week in one of my science classes, we discussed how acetone basically kills off your kidney cells, through both inhalation and physical contact. It freaked me out. So I got this. I know it's not going to work as well as pure acetone (what I usually use) but eh. In the name of health or whatever.

up & up Brand pencil sharpener
I've tried three sharpeners in the last month and NONE of them have worked well! Freakin' ridiculous. Hopefully this basic sharpener works.

Maybelline Express Finish Snow Bunny (left) and Covergirl Luxe Lilac (right)
The only other Covergirl polish I've tried is Gold Rush, which is a glitter top coat. It's pretty awesome, but I still have doubts about Covergirl nail polish because of some major disappointments I've experienced in the past with this brand. Nevertheless, I decided to buy a Covergirl polish. You never know until you try it.

Neutrogena Custom Glow Blush and Bronzer in Berry Glow
This is so pretty! Can't wait to try it out!

Have you used Covergirl nail polishes before? Do you like them?

up & up nail polish remover is available at Target from about $1-$3.
up & up pencil sharpeners are available at Target for about $2.
Maybelline Express Finish nail polishes are available at drugstores for about $4.
Covergirl nail polishes are available at drugstores for about $4.
Neutrogena Custom Glow Blush & Bronzer is available at drugstores for about $11.

Little thing to smile for today: pretty drugstore makeup! :)

Sinful Colors Love Bite

My first manicure with a Sinful Colors polish! I am totally lovin' the formula. The color, not so much. More on that later. Here's Sinful Colors Love Bite:

Sinful Colors Love Bite, indoor, natural light

Sinful Colors Love Bite, outdoor, indirect sun

Sinful Colors Love Bite, outdoor, flash

Most of the time, this polish just looks black, like in the first picture. You only see the pretty glitter in direct light or sunlight. And just an FYI, the *glossiness* is due to the top coat; Love Bite doesn't dry that shiny.

Sinful Colors Love Bite is a black creme with teal microglitter. As mentioned, the glitter is only visible when you look closely. Application was great; completely opaque in two coats. Dry time was ok. Not great but not incredibly horrible.

I was expecting more out of this polish. First, however, I must point out that I don't like black nail polish. I LOVE almost-blacks (IDK why some people don't...almost-blacks are fabulous!) and other dark colors, but not black. I don't know why, but I just don't. That being said, I was hoping that the glitter would be more obvious in this polish, like in the flash picture (Love Bite never looks like it is in the flash picture; I just included it to show off the glitter). The microglitter looks absolutely gorgeous in the bottle: teal in most lights, but blue, purple, or even gold in some other lights (you can *sorta-not-really* see this in the last picture). On the nail, however, the microglitter is very discreet and looks teal in every light. I have to admit, this is a really cool/unique black polish, but I don't really like it.

Even though I don't love the color, Love Bite was a great intro to Sinful Colors polishes. With its great formula, good brush, huge color variety, and amazingly low price, Sinful Colors has won my heart.

Do you like black nail polish? How do you feel about Sinful Colors polishes?

Sinful Colors polishes are available at drugstores for about $2.

Quick post - New stuff :)

Picked up a few more polishes today. Just a few:

From left: Pacific Blue, Blue Streak, and Clearly Quick

I've been looking for Pacific Blue for SO long and when I saw it, I just pounced. And then I went with my instincts and grabbed Blue Streak. And Clearly Quick. Because you always need clear nail polish. Right? RIGHT??

*Ahem*...anyways...
When I got home, I found a surprise waiting for me: the Fauxnads (fake Konads) that I ordered!! Quick, crappy picture:

BTW, the scratches are on the plastic films, not the actual metal.

Smile for new stuff!! :D

NYC Spring Street

My nails have been too calm! I had to go back to bright, flashy nails with NYC Spring Street:

NYC Spring Street, outdoor, shade
This color was ridiculously hard to capture outside. The sun just made the color look washed out. The shade was better, but it made Spring Street look way more red than it is. Nevertheless, I felt like I should include an outdoor picture.

Indoor, natural light

Indoor, natural light
This last picture is the most color-accurate. I included a bunch of pictures because I'm trying to show how the polish can look different in certain lights. Oh yeah, and ignore the bubbles on my index and middle fingers. Top coat problems...

NYC In A New York Color Minute Spring Street is a bright medium orange creme. Application was amazing, really smooth and even, and the dry time was great. Opaque at two coats, even though I should have done three to get rid of the VNL.

I absolutely love NYC In a New York Color Minute polishes. Not only are they only two bucks, the formula is great, there's a nice variety of colors, and the brush is awesome!! I didn't even have to do any clean up on this manicure because of the amazing brush! NYC really has some great nail polishes for amazing prices. Go check them out!!

I'm not really sure if orange nail polishes look good on me. I really love them in the bottle, but I'm not really sure whether or not I like how they look on me. I went through an orange/coral phase last summer, during which I bought a bunch of nail polishes of said colors. I actually didn't buy Spring Street last summer, though; I bought it last year in October on the night that the Giants won the World Series (Yeah GIANTS!!! :D). Right after they won, I rushed out and bought this polish and 10 Professional Nail Lacquer The Little Black Dress so I could do orange and black nails ;D (Giants' colors!).

How do you feel about orange nail polish? Awesome, or too bright for nails?

NYC In a New York Color Minute nail polishes are available at drugstores for about $2.

Little thing to smile for today: going back to bright nails!! :D

Quick post - Small shopping trip :)

Today I went shopping with some friends. Pretty fun for the most part :)

I totally restrained myself from buying a buttload of stuff, so I'm pretty proud of myself and I'm really happy with my (very few) purchases:

Sephora by OPI Club Scene Queen (left) and Caribbean Cocktail (right)
Usually I don't really like Sephora by OPI because I think the normal OPI polishes are better (formula and brush) plus OPI polishes are generally cheaper than Sephora by OPI polishes, but I REALLY felt like getting some new nail polishes (what's new :P).

When I was at Sephora, I (and my *shopaholicness*) was like *Ooh, pretty....this one's pretty too...OOH SPARKLES!!.....Oooohhh blue....Oohhh...* and I'm REALLY glad and proud that I only bought two polishes instead of the....seven? or so that I wanted to get.

Bath and Body Works Moisturizing Hand Soap in Island Margarita
I really wanted to get the Pink Grapefruit hand soap, but THEY DISCONTINUED IT!! NOOO!!!!!!! My friend has it and my hands smelled absolutely HEAVENLY after I used it. I'm so sad they don't sell it anymore :(. Anyways, I decided to get the Island Margarita hand soap to satisfy my lemming. It sorta did. A little.

Just a quick update :).

Have you tried/owned the Pink Grapefruit hand soap? Are you just as sad that BBW discontinued it?

Sephora by OPI nail polishes are available at Sephora for $9.50 (they upped the price AGAIN! >:( NOT cool...).
Bath and Body Works Hand Soap is available at Bath and Body Works for $5.

Little thing to smile for today: amazing-smelling hand soaps! :D

Utterly disgusting

When you hear the name *Glittersniffer Cosmetics*, RUN THE OTHER WAY!

Here's why:

It may be a long post, but please read it if you have the time. There are many complaint blogs and forums about GS cosmetics, but this post sums it up really well. I am utterly disgusted by GS Cosmetics and its founder, Lela Warren. I can't even fathom how anyone can be this horrible and disgusting.

Be sure to read Part 2 of Anastasia's post about Glittersniffer Cosmetics on her blog, Lipsticks and Lightsabers.

How do you feel after reading the post? Do you want to bitch-slap Lela Warren as hard as I do?

Smile for NOT EVER buying Glittersniffer Cosmetics products!

Maybelline Pink Karats French manicure

Surprise, surprise: I'm already bored with the sheer manicure from yesterday. Actually I got bored with it last night, so I made it into a French manicure. And I have to say, I'm luvin' it:

Indoor, artificial light

So I took the indoor photo last night after I finished the manicure, but then I went to sleep before my nails were completely dry, so when I woke up, the nail polish was all wrinkly. *Cry*. Nevertheless, I took more photos today to show off the awesome shimmer:

Outdoor, partial shade

Outdoor, sun
Sorry for the totally ravaged, dry cuticles. I washed a bunch of dishes right before taking the pics. And that cut on my finger has pretty much healed, but it still looked kind of gross in today's pics so I put on virtual bandaids again.

So I had on two coats of Maybelline Pink Karats from the sheer manicure, then I added a French tip using L'oreal French Tip White and then I added another coat of Pink Karats. Overall, I really like this manicure. I'm a fan of classic French manicures (they're just so elegant and pretty! :D) but the insane shimmer of Pink Karats just adds a *POW* to the elegance. Awesome!! :D

As you can probably tell from the pictures, it was sunny today! Yay!! :D Hopefully it's here to stay for the whole break...

Do you like French manicures? Have you ever tried French manicure variations?

Maybelline Express Finish nail polishes are available at drugstores for about $4.
L'oreal nail polishes are available at drugstores for about $5.

Maybelline Pink Karats

Heyyy guys :) How was your cold, wintery Saturday?

The nice, sunny days of two weeks ago have departed :(. All that remains (haha, love that band :P) are cold, cloudy, rainy days. Boo.

Since it's break and I knew that I was gonna be bored with my nails quicker, I didn't care as much about what color I did my nails. So I made a rare decision: I painted my nails with a sheer color. Maybelline Pink Karats is pretty for a sheer, but I don't wear it often because, of course, I don't like sheers.

I took a bunch of pictures to show off the shimmer:

Please ignore the *un-attractiveness* of my tips. Another reason why I don't like sheers is (obviously) they don't hide the imperfections of my nails. Ugh.

Maybelline Pink Karats is a light peachy pink sheer with silver, holo, and light pink shimmer. On the nail, however, the base is just clear and you mostly only see the silver shimmer. Not too exciting, but pretty. This should be good for layering, though :).

Do you like sheer polishes? Or do you prefer awesome flashy polishes like me?

Maybelline Express Finish polishes are available at drugstores for about $4.

Smile for pretty shimmer!

Survey for fun! :)

1. Do you become paranoid for awhile after seeing horror movies? OMG totally and completely!!The only horror movie I've seen is Saw (the first one) on Halloween last year and I STILL get freaked out when I'm alone at home/in the dark/awake in the middle of the night.

2. If you could be anywhere right now, where would you be? Hmm...Hawaii, I guess. Somewhere sunny and hot and summery (I love the heat SO much more than the cold)

3. Potato chips: BBQ or Sour Cream flavor? BBQ! I used to love sour cream, but I've converted.

4. What’s on your nails? For ONCE, absolutely nothing. Yesterday I took off the glitter-tastic nail polish from Sunday and decided to let my nails go au-naturel today.

5. Are you going to have an awesome day? YES!! It's break, so I am TOTALLY relaxed and happy!! :DD

Valentine's Day Manicure - Revlon Pink Twinkle

So in *honor* of Valentine's Day, I decided to go with pink nails (of course!). I don't really believe in Valentine's Day as a holiday; I think it's just a day for guys in relationships to be pressured and for people not in relationships to suffer. But hey, at least I get to sport flashy pink nails (any excuse for nail polish :D!).

I have actually had Revlon Pink Twinkle for a REALLY long time, but the formula's still fine and I still ADORE the color. I know I said that I would try to make my posts less pic-heavy, but I couldn't help myself with this color:

Revlon Pink Twinkle, outdoor, partial shade

Revlon Pink Twinkle, sun

Revlon Pink Twinkle, indoor, natural light

Revlon Pink Twinkle, indoor, artificial lighting
I still have virtual band-aids on my fingers because although the cuts are healing, they are still visible and I also got a small splinter in my other finger.

My crappy camera got really confused by all the AMAZING glitter, as you can tell in the pics. The bottle color in the first picture is what Pink Twinkle looks like in real life. The glitter is way more dense than most of the pictures show it; the last picture is pretty accurate glitter-wise.

Revlon Pink Twinkle is a medium-pink jelly base chock-full of pink and silver glitter and microglitter. Like I said, the glitter is very very dense (pure awesomeness!! :D), which is why I LOVE LOVE LOVE this polish!! It's so hard to find a good, dense glitter polish; so far, the only ones I've found are from OPI. I really wanted Fingerpaints Easel-y Entertained to have as much glitter as Pink Twinkle, but unfortunately it didn't :(. Anyways, Pink Twinkle was totally opaque in two coats and went on really smoothly. Like all of my other glitter polishes, Pink Twinkle dried really fast. Unlike most glitter polishes, though, Pink Twinkle isn't really rough or gritty at the surface when it's dry. Amazing!!

What is your opinion on Valentine's Day? What about wearing pink on Valentine's Day?

Revlon polishes are available at drugstores for about $5.

Smile for opaque glitter polishes! :D

(PS. You know another awesome thing about opaque glitter polishes?? You can make a mistake and it's barely visible!! Awesome!! :D)

New nail polish + Survey! :D

So I got my first Essie polish; I finally got Essie Dive Bar after lemming it for MONTHS!! I was at CVS and saw the Essie display and just grabbed it! The CVS closest to where I live is really annoying; they never get new stuff on time and the selection there isn't that great. Nevertheless, I always seem to pick up one or two (or five...) bottles of nail polish whenever I stop by there.

Behold the amazingness that is Essie Dive Bar :D!!!:

Sorry for the random backgrounds...this color was so hard to capture! Awesome teal shimmer that becomes purple in certain lights! AMAZING!! :D Totally can't wait to try this out!

To be honest, I've never bought an Essie polish up to now because I don't think their colors are that great. In fact, I find them to be quite boring. But I just love their new retail lineup! I only bought one bottle because my (aggressive) friend LITERALLY dragged me away from the Essie display at CVS. LITERALLY. Like PULLED. A nearby saleslady was watching and she started laughing at us. *Sigh* So embarrasing...Anyways back to what I was saying, maybe I only see the boring Essies when I'm shopping, but for some reason, I just think the retail colors are just so much more exciting and awesome than the Essie colors I usually see. I'm excited to see if Dive Bar will make me start loving Essie polishes...

Essie polishes are available now at both salons and retailers for about $8.

On to the survey:

1. How are you doing? Pretty good. It's still sunny, but it's supposed to rain soon :(

2. Do you groom your own eyebrows, or go to a professional? If you do them yourself, what tools do you use? I go to a professional once every few months to get the overall shape fixed, but other than that, I do my own eyebrows.

3. What hair products are you currently using? Head & Shoulders shampoo (as always), Tresemme Naturals conditioner (smells like sweet orange!! AMAZING!!)

4. Three things that make you happy, besides beauty products. Go! Awesome friends, white chocolate, warm blankets

5. Are you celebrating Valentine’s Day? How? Nope. Other than I might paint my nails pink...besides, Valentine's Day is a total a joke of a holiday. I totally love Tammy's post about Valentine's Day: http://www.lazybeautiful.com/?p=8883.

Simple blue addition to Precious Peach

First of all, have you guys seen the Google doodle today? IT'S TOTALLY AWESOME!! :DD I was SO freaking excited about it when I first saw it today! (*Hint*: you can MOVE it!!) The Google doodle is celebrating Jules Verne's birthday; he "pioneered the science-fiction genre," according to Wikipedia, and was the author of several well-known books such as Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea, A Journey to the Center of the Earth, and Around the World in Eighty Days. Go check it out if you haven't already! Like, RIGHT NOW!!

So I was already getting bored with my Sally Hansen DS Precious Peach manicure from yesterday so I decided to spice it up with some simple nail art:

Again, my finger has a gross little cuts on them, so I spared your eyes with virtual band-aids. And again, Precious Peach isn't as orange as shown in the pictures. And my hands aren't wierdly, sickly yellow-toned like they are in the pictures...

So I had Sally Hansen Diamond Strength Precious Peach as the base (from yesterday) and added a *diagonal half-nail-triangle-thing* (great description, huh?) with Sinful Colors See You Soon

Here a random little *factoid* (haha, love that nerd word :P!): My mom designs jewelry as a hobby (I may be biased, but I think she's pretty great at it ;D), and I actually got the inspiration for this combination of orange and blue from one of her many necklace designs:

It's not exactly the same colors, but hey, close enough :P.

Today was still sunny, but it was also freezingly windy :(. I hope the great 70-degree weather comes back soon.

Do you like the combination of blue and orange? And what do you call that *diagonal half-nail-triangle-thing*??

Sally Hansen Diamond Strength nail polishes are available at drugstores for about $5.
Sinful Colors nail polishes are available at drugstores for about $2.

Little thing to smile for today: the combination of complimentary colors! :D (hmm...so I did learn something from art class...:P)

Sally Hansen Diamond Strength Precious Peach

Heyy peeps :)

Once again, today is sunny and happy-weathery and, if you didn't notice yet, I'm in a happyyy mood :D Except I was pretty short-tempered and bitchy with my friends today for some wierd reason...so I apologize, LD, NM, SK, and BP :(. I'll try to control my attitude next time :).

Since the weather has been so nice, I picked a happy summery color to do my nails last night. Love the color, but I had some problems with the application. More on that later.

Oh and BTW, I have some pretty gross little cut things on my third finger (I have no idea how I got them...) so I put on some virtual band-aids to spare your eyes :).

Also the manicure itself is kinda messed up because my bottle of top coat is getting all funky and weird. I really need to get nail polish thinner...does anyone have any recommendations? ;D

Sally Hansen Precious Peach:

Sally Hansen Diamond Strength Precious Peach is a peachy orange with lots of gold shimmer. You can really see how the gold shimmer comes out in the light. My camera just couldn't capture the color of the polish. In the pictures, Precious Peach looks more like Sally Hansen Diamond Strength Sunrise, Sunset (another one of my favorite summer polishes :D!). In real life, Precious Peach is lighter, much less orange, and less bright than in the pictures. This polish was SO sheer; this is four coats, and there's STILL VNL (visible nail line)! I figured that doing any more coats wouldn't help that much with the coverage and would make the drying time hell, so I stopped at four coats. I usually really like Diamond Strength nail polishes, as mentioned in earlier posts, but this one really was a disappointment.

What do you think about this color? Is it pretty enough for you to overlook the thin formula?

Sally Hansen Diamond Strength nail polishes are available at drugstores for about $5.

Little thing to smile for today: amazing Californian summery-polish-inducing weather! :D (BTW, how is the weather in other states/countries? I'm curious :P)

Survey for fun! :D

1. Do you play any sports? I play tennis and golf. Both for fun, seeing as I'm not that good at either of them :P

2. Did you take your vitamins today? I don't take vitamins...I know, bad for my health :(

3. Do you like musicals? To an extent. I like funny musicals with people WHO CAN ACTUALLY SING. A hot guy or two helps as well :) My brother is a really musical person and he often participates in musicals, so of course I have to go see those.

4. Favorite TV show at the moment. BONES! :DD

5. Do you have any pets? I had fish. They recently died. Don't know if I'm gonna get any more...

6. Last beauty product you bought. All the stuff from this haul.

7. What skin care products are you currently using? Olay Complete All Day UV Moisture Cream. Love Olay products! Though what was with Carrie Underwood in that commercial? I'm sorry, but based on her *acting* in that commercial, I think she should stick with singing.

Drugstore lip product haul/review

I had another shopaholic moment last week in CVS (couldn't post it until now). *Sigh* what's new? Lol :P.

So I got a Revlon lipstick, a Rimmel lipstick, three Rimmel lip glosses, and a instant polish remover thing I thought I'd try out. I'm really starting to get interested in Rimmel products. I first fell in love with their Stay Matte Pressed Powder and now I'm exploring their other products. Also I just love the packaging for all their makeup! Cute, yet not overly so. Unfortunately, Rimmel's cute packaging doesn't establish how well their products work. So far, I've only tried out the Rimmel lip glosses; I'll tell you how those went later...

The stuff I haven't tried yet:

CVS Brand instant polish remover

CVS Brand instant polish remover open

CVS Brand instant polish remover with "dabber"

I thought this was just so cool/useful/convenient that I just had to try it out! I was totally looking for some type of convenient nail polish remover to carry around during the day and here it is! I'll tell you how well it works when I actually use it :).

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Spiced Brandy

Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick in Heather Shimmer

Here's the stuff that I did try out:

Rimmel Kiss & Stay Lipgloss in Lustrous Nude (left) and Old Flame (right)

I was really excited about these two since they looked so pretty in the tube, but after trying them out, I'm really disappointed.

So you're supposed to use the *base coat* (pigmented color side) first and then put the *top coat* (shimmery sheer side) on top of it (duh). A random little observation: when it's in the tube, the base coat smells quite similar to the sweet *vanilla-y, cake-y* smell of MAC Lipglasses. Yum :). Anyways, the base coat is pretty pigmented and is really smooth and *spreadable* when first put on, but after a minute or so, it turns really thick and sticky and gross. I guess this is what makes it really long-wearing, but it feels totally gross. After putting on the base coat, I thought that the top coat might make it more smooth and *comfortable*. It didn't. The top coat was equally thick and sticky, but unlike the base coat, it wasn't all nice and smooth when first put on. Also the brush was terrible at spreading the product around. (The base coat has a doe-foot applicator and the top coat has a brush applicator.) So disappointing :(.

And the other lip gloss:

Rimmel Royal Gloss in Berry Crush

After trying the Kiss & Stay glosses, this lip gloss was a welcome relief. It's much thinner than the Kiss & Stay glosses (I prefer glosses with thinner viscosities even if they don't stay as long) and a pretty shimmery pink color. The only thing I have against this gloss is the smell: it's a wierd funky fruity-ish smell, but I can deal with it. Oh and BTW, the color in the picture is really inaccurate; the real color is more cool-toned and purple. My camera is so stupid.

Though the Kiss & Stay glosses were a huge disappointment, they definitely haven't discouraged me from trying out other Rimmel products. Can't wait to try out the other stuff from this haul! :D

Have you tried any Rimmel lip glosses? Do you like Rimmel products in general?

CVS Brand Instant Polish Remover is available at CVS for about $3.
Revlon Super Lustrous lipstick is available at drugstores for about $8.
Rimmel Lasting Finish lipstick is available at drugstores for about $5.
Rimmel Kiss & Stay lip gloss is available at drugstores for about $8.
Rimmel Royal Gloss lip gloss is available at drugstores for about $6.

Smile for shopaholic moments! :D

Last week's manicure - Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Mauve It

OMG I have not posted in SO long! I am seriously sorry, but my internet was down all this week. Something was wrong with the modem, I think. The internet company sent a new modem which arrived yesterday and so far, the internet is working fine again :)

So last week I had Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Mauve It on my nails because I was in a *pink mood*, which is VERY rare for me. I have to admit, I like pink as a color (it was my favorite when I was little :D) but I don't think it looks that great on my nails.

Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Mauve It

Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Mauve It is medium-light pink with silvery-white shimmer. I still can't decide if I like this color or not. I really like it when it looks all shimmery and pretty like in the first picture, but I don't really like it when it looks like all flat and dead like in the second picture. For a pink, I guess it's ok. Opaque in two coats.

I really like Insta-Dri polishes except for one problem: Insta-Dri polishes have a really wide, flat brush which makes application pretty difficult. I usually like wide brushes, but this brush was just too much.

The weather these past few weeks have been absolutely AMAZING! Lots of sun plus 65-degree-ish temperature has kept me in a good mood and reminds me why I LOVE California!

Also a note about my future posts: I realize that most of my posts are quite pic-heavy, so I will try to cut back on the number of pictures that I put in each post. :)

Do you like this pink? How do you feel about the brushes of Insta-Dri polishes?

Sally Hansen Insta-Dri nail polishes are available at drugstores for about $5.

Little thing to smile for today: working internet! :D
